Seattle – Today, Mayor Bruce Harrell made the following statement:
“The violent anti-Semitic attack in Boulder is horrific and appalling, and my deepest thoughts are with the victims and their families as they heal both mentally and physically. This type of targeted violence and hate against people based on their faith or beliefs is completely unacceptable anywhere in our country, and the impacts have reverberated in Seattle’s Jewish community which has also experienced a disturbing increase in reports of bias incidents. Our Jewish residents deserve to be and feel safe everywhere in our city, and my administration will continue to stand firm in our commitment to denounce hate and create safe, welcoming, and inclusive communities.”
